An Iowa Senate subcommittee has unanimously approved a bill that would incentivize small wind energy installations. If passed by the full Senate and the Iowa House, the bill would instate what is called a feed-in tariff, guaranteeing a minimum price at which electricity is purchased from small wind energy installations on agricultural land.

Feed in tariffs have been used by several European countries and three U.S. states to increase production of renewable energy.
