Listen to this week’s radio segment here or read the transcript below. This week’s episode highlights recycling efforts at UI’s Kinnick Stadium.

This football season recycling efforts will increase both inside and outside of Kinnick Stadium.

This is the Iowa Environmental Focus.

The University of Iowa Office of Sustainability, Athletics Department, ECO Hawk student organization and Delta Tau Delta fraternity are working together to reduce waste in and around UI’s Kinnick Stadium.

These groups will set up recycling stations operated by volunteers inside the stadium and by Kinnick’s gates. At the end of the game, the volunteers – including Iowa City High School students – will sort the recyclables from the waste

This effort is part of the University of Iowa’s 2020 sustainability goals, which include reducing the amount of waste generated by the university by 60 percent before the year 2020.
