Savage-Rumbaugh, a researcher at the trust, claims that someone cut the heels of “Teco,” an infant ape, to prevent him from standing upright. She has also claimed that the trust intended move the apes to another facility.
The Great Ape Trust has denied all of Savage-Rumbaugh’s allegations.
“There are no plans to move those apes, there never were plans, and the board is adamant that the apes will not be moved,” said trust spokesman Al Setka.
