Check out this week’s radio segment here or read the transcript below.  It features our latest sustainble city – Decorah.

Did you know you can make compost out of worm waste? Many residents in Decorah know it after the third annual Decorah Iowa Green Initiative.

This is the Iowa Environmental Focus on sustainable communities.

In mid-September, the Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted a weekend-long green festival commonly known as digIN.

Among the festival’s activities were demonstrations on composting, planting buffer strips and creating edible landscaping. Additional events included a sustainable home tour, promotion of local food and a Green Expo featuring experts on various environmentally friendly practices.

Thanks to Decorah and Winneshiek County for encouraging green living, and celebrating sustainability.
